Duo exhibition: Thomas Udomrat Hostrup MFA & Christian Askjær
As the images become less reliable, the relationship between viewer and image becomes warped, it also invites the viewer to examine images for authenticity. Is there hidden motive behind the image? What is real, and what becomes of our relation to images when we always have to meet images with skepticism?
Thomas Udomrat Hostrup and Christian Askjær, is offering a break from that with their Duo exhibition: SENSE • SANSER. Here they invite the audience to put their scrupulous eyes to use, not as an authenticity check, but simply a joyous exploration of shape and understanding.

Utsukushii
2025
Utsukushii is the title of Christian Askjær’s search for beauty in Japanese culture and the country’s aesthetic. During the exhibition one will travel from day to night and experience 24 works from the ordinary daily life to the 24 works from the buzzing night life. Askjær has a unique sense of colour, light and composition, which often evokes feelings of recognition and connection in the eye of the viewer. Askjær tends to experiment with different photography techniques, which transforms reality into surrealism.
All Utsukushii works are printed on 100% recycled paper giving the works the EU Ecolabel and The Nordic Swan Ecolabel. It is an important mission for Askjær to present his works with sustainability in mind.
Forever
2024
Time is a social construct. FOREVER takes place in a world where time is not a factor. There is really no sense of time. FOREVER is many years of work from France, Canary Islands, Portugal and Belgium condensed in one exhibition. FOREVER is about simplicity, emptiness, colours, shapes and forms. FOREVER is past, present and future.
The exhibition is a study in time focusing on contemporary photo-based art. From compelling architecture to the emptiness of man-made spaces, FOREVER explores our surroundings and examines how different architectural and infrastructural changes have been woven together over time. From a scarecrow to a car lost in the surrounding landscape. From the grandness of architecture to the intimacy of a single human being lost in discovery. FOREVER is the essence.
The exhibition consists of 12 limited works in the sizes 60×90 cm & 100×150 cm.
